A two-day lunch service as part of the MA Fine Art Dress Rehearsal Shows: Before The Applause.
In this, I collaborated with my mom (Gina Aunty) and the fantastic Chelsea Canteen Team to curate a special menu, using my mom's recipes, which the chefs replicated.
The menu featured a selection of dishes my mom describes as our ‘ghar ka khana’ or 'home food', which were shared over lunch with students and staff across Chelsea campus.
Through this lunch service, I aimed to explore ways food can simultaneously foster ideas of community whilst serving as a form of resistance within the institutional setting.
A big thank you to the entire team at Chelsea Canteen Team and Baxter Storey for helping to coordinate and put this together with us and the chefs for replicating these recipes so thoughtfully!
