Inspired by the intimacy of street henna stalls and the conversations which flow from them; we invited attendees to sit down with us and engage in conversations around race and identity, whilst we did their mehndi.

Who The Henna U? was a collaborative live installation, by myself and Morisha Moodley, set up as part of the Tate Exchange programme in collaboration with BA Fine Art students from Central Saint Martins.

Replicating a domestic space made up of objects and materials from within our own homes, this piece aimed to establish a means of exchange that felt both intimate and communal.
